My recovery has been remarkable. Me and my team of doctors, and therapists attribute that to good health to begin with, patience, strength, dedication, determination, a positive attitude, and doing the work!It started out in the middle of the night with the room spinning, hyperventilation and things looking upside down.
It was scary and we called 911. It was determined that a blood clot cut off the blood supply to the brain. There was no plaque in the arteries so it is still being determined what caused it.
The right side was affected – mostly balance and co-ordination.
I went from bed ridden with a bedpan to walking with just a cane when in the big bad world. I’m still working toward driving again. Which will be complete independence again. Almost there!!!
Rehab paired with healthy living will help stroke recovery and help prevent a second stroke.
What have I learned?
You and I should count our blessings, but we should also make them count!
